DID YOU KNOW?
Race & Mental Health need more recognition, so here we goooo!
Dear my people,
I hope this blog finds you well. I wanted to pass this cool informational resource to yall. I enjoy having an opportunity to learn new things that propel us into moving with life rather than resisting it.
Some of you may know, I have a passion for social and racial justice. If you didn't know, now you do! You can check out some really vulnerable and authentic conversations on my YouTube channel. They are safe space talking circles about our relationship with race aka Perspective Circles! I am organizing some new episodes with some really awesome perspectives to help shape our relationship with race. That is the jist of Perspective Circles in a nutshell. BUT until I get that finished, let me show you this cool thing instead!
To close out Black History Month, I would like to invite you to check out some significant forerunners in my profession..and then participate in a quiz on Black pioneers in mental health. Honestly, I got schooled on the quiz. I learned a lot and am better for knowing the info.
The quiz is pretty quick, 10 questions and should take about 10-15 minutes to complete. Let me know what you found to stick with you! And for those who are wanting more action in committing to racial justice, I can get you some Perspective Circles reflection prompts, soon to be approved for continuing education credit for those in my profession! Exciting stuff!
Black Pioneers in Mental Health: Test Your Knowledge
Next month is Social Work awareness month. I will be giving the profession its flowers, in hopes to reach the next generation of social workers coming into the profession. They must know how this profession truly makes a difference in the world. Stay tuned!
Thank you in advance for your time and attention. It is greatly appreciated. I would love to reach more people so please pass this to someone who would appreciate it!
Peace,
Sara
